Lord of the Rings Online was on sale at Target for 13 bucks, so I picked it up. I have a month of play, so let me know what server/characters you are playing, so I can contact you in game. :)

I have characters on 2 servers Silverlode & Brandywine.

Silverlode is my main server, all my characters are level-15 or above. The character names are:

Maug
Elriel
Kell
Kara
Rigo

I also rolled a couple of characters on Brandywine to play with some friends but they went back to WoW. Can't remember the names off the top of my head but can check if you want to roll on there.

Game is uuuuuuupdating. I skimmed the manual, and then went to gamefaqs to get some quick impressions on classes. I'm probably gonna make a Captain first, Lore-Master second, and Hunter third. I plan to try out each class though. :)

Oh, yeah, what are your classes/thoughts?

For the most part I liked all the classes. Several of the classes have had some updates recently so my impressions of them may not be correct now.

Maug is a Dwarven Champion. Originally when I beta'd the game I rolled him as a Guardian but the guardian just was to slow for me. The champion has great melee damage and decent defense. They also have good melee AoE attacks.

Elriel is a Elven Hunter. They are of course ranged DPS. Probably my favorite class. Its just nice to be able to kill things before they even get to you. Champions can jump into a group of three guys and take them down and have about 1/3 life left. Hunters have to be more cautious, lay down a trap, hit a guy with a slowing shot and then stun another. They can take the same three guys with almost taking no damage but it takes more prep. if they get jumped they are in big trouble.

Kell is a Human Captain. These guys are an interesting hybrid pet/melee class. Decent armor and weapons along with some interesting buffs and their herald which can provide different bonuses.

Kara is a Human Loremaster. Loremasters are pretty close to WoW warlocks. DoT ranged damage with a pet. I really enjoyed the loremaster once I got the bear pet who could tank a bit better than the raven.

Rigo is a Hobbit Burglar. Burglar's are the debuff specialists. They have some intersting tricks but are a little difficult to solo with. They also get the ability to trigger group manuevers.

Guardians are great if you want to take on 4-5 guys at once but it takes them a long time to kill the enemy.

Minstrels are of course the healing class. I have one rolled on Brandywine and enjoyed playing him. They do decent damage and the abilty to keep yourself healed is huge.

I'd definitely try all the classes and find the one that most fits with your playstyle. My two favs are prob the Champion and Hunter.

I'd also try to roll at least one Hobbit just for questing in the Shire. There are your stndard quests there but you can gain a couple of levels just delivering pies and running the postal routes.

I don't know how much time I'll have to play the next couple of days, I need to get some stuff done before Friday. Let me know what time you will be on and I will try to logon. I should be free Friday and Saturday though. Though you may need to prepare for the game on Sunday. :)

Playing a Captain named Katalya, up to level 7. Gonna try to get close to one of your levels by Friday/Saturday.

I'll be playing at night I think, most nights this week.
